PlexBio Partners with Three Leading European Distributors Expanding into Six European Markets While Advancing ESR1 Testing Solutions in Europe and Brazil
PlexBio Co., Ltd. (TWSE: 6572) announced that in the first half of 2026 it signed multi-year distribution agreements with BIOTYPE GmbH (Germany), MEDI HELIX s.r.o. (Czech Republic), and Palex Medical (Spain and Portugal). Through these partnerships, the IntelliPrep® TRIO 240 fully automated sample preparation system will be introduced into six European markets: Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, and Portugal. Each of the three distributors brings deep, established expertise in its respective region — the German-speaking market, Central Europe, and the Iberian Peninsula — enabling PlexBio to build a more comprehensive regional distribution network across Europe's key molecular diagnostics markets.
Leveraging their local distribution channels and technical service capabilities, BIOTYPE GmbH and MEDI HELIX s.r.o. will accelerate the rollout of the TRIO 240 system in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The IntelliPlex® platform, known for its high sensitivity and multiplex genetic testing capabilities, is well suited to meet the clinical demands of precision medicine. Through the partnership with Palex Medical, the platform will simultaneously expand into the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
The collaboration with Palex Medical extends beyond the TRIO 240 system to include a range of IntelliPlex® products, such as the lung cancer gene panel, single-gene cancer detection reagents, EGFR circulating free DNA (cfDNA) assay, and the ESR1 cfDNA assay. Notably, the ESR1 cfDNA testing solution has already been incorporated into a collaborative program with an international pharmaceutical company, with potential applications in treatment monitoring for patients with metastatic breast cancer. ESR1 mutations are a key biomarker associated with resistance to endocrine therapy in metastatic breast cancer, and liquid biopsy testing can help clinicians adjust treatment strategies at an earlier stage.
Notably, in addition to entering the Spanish and Portuguese markets through an international pharmaceutical collaboration facilitated by Palex Medical, PlexBio's ESR1 cfDNA testing solution has also previously been introduced — through its Brazilian distributor, Biomédica Brazil — into a related collaborative program with an international pharmaceutical company in that market. This demonstrates that PlexBio's liquid biopsy technology is steadily gaining adoption in pharmaceutical partnership programs across multiple regions.
